NYSAFC to Meet with State and Federal Representatives
On April 30 and May 1, 2014, a delegation from the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs will join with thousands of fire service leaders from across the country in Washington, D.C. for the 26th Annual Congressional Fire Services Institute’s Dinner & Seminars program.
This is a program with seminars featuring top speakers, and for most of us, a day spent meeting with our Congressional representatives. This is also a great opportunity for networking with other firefighters and officers from all areas of our nation.
The Congressional Fire Services Institute has been an invaluable asset in meeting with and educating our federal representatives on legislative issues of concern to the emergency services. The institute has been very successful in helping the fire service to pass or defeat legislation that impacts all of us. On May 19, 2014, NYSAFC will host its annual Government Affairs Day in Albany. This program starts at 9:30 a.m. in the Legislative Office Building. It will include discussions on the association’s current legislative agenda, a speaker addressing the building code adoption process, and meetings with members of the New York State Assembly and Senate. If you are interested in attending, please contact the office at (800) 676-3473 or (518) 477-2631.
