Chaplains Association Fundraiser for NYS Fallen Firefighters Memorial

The New York State Association of Fire Chaplains, Inc. is pleased to announce the establishment of a challenge coin fundraiser to benefit the New York State Fallen Firefighters Memorial.

Each coin is engraved with the seal of the Association of Fire Chaplains on one side and the Fallen Firefighters Memorial statue on the other side. Coins are available for $10. From every coin sold, $5 will be given to the memorial fund that will help offset the cost of the Memorial Ceremony held each year in October.

Chief Chaplain Ken Hessel stated, "This is a great example of the Chaplains Association working in partnership with the Memorial to continue to provide ongoing support to the men and women of this state who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities."

As of October 7, 2014, there were 2,390 names on the Memorial wall, which is located on the Empire State Plaza in Albany. Learn about the New York State Fallen Firefighters Memorial here.

Coins may be ordered through the New York State Association of Fire Chaplains website or at the association's display booth during the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs 109th Annual Conference & FIRE 2015 Expo at the Turning Stone Resort in June, as well as at other association conventions throughout the state.
