CEO In-Service Credit Hours: TBD
This course offers a chance for members of the architecture and engineering worlds to gain perspective on how the evolution of today’s fire environment and modern building construction techniques and materials have changed the way firefighters view and respond to structural fires. Through sharing scientific data, live burn testing, and reviewing recent events, Deputy Chief F.J. Spinelli hopes to facilitate a productive discussion and allow participants to gain insight into how sometimes designs and materials don’t translate well into the real world. The program will also highlight misconceptions and misrepresentations in television and movies regarding fire sprinkler systems that are widely accepted as truth by the American public.

In this course, Investigator/Inspector Pete Lattanzio of C&L Inspections will review how to recognize the hazards that may be present at building and construction sites. In addition, it is designed to meet the OSHA training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 and will offer an in-depth look at the hazardous materials portion of the 2010 Fire Code of the State of New York.
