New York Propane Gas Association Emergency Responder Training
The New York Propane Gas Association will conduct 24-hour emergency responder training at the New York State Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls, NY from September 14-16, 2015.
The training program will include:
- Instruction from the Propane Emergencies (third edition) text:
- Physical and chemical properties of propane.
- Standard, codes, and regulations.
- Non-bulk and bulk containers.
- Bulk transportation design and construction.
- Bulk Plants and storage tanks.
- Hazard and risk evaluation.
- General emergency response procedures.
- Product removal, transfer, and recovery operations.
Propane Emergencies DVD.
Field exercises that will include:
- Capping and plugging.
- Flaring.
- Transfer.
- Live fire evolutions.
- Refrigeration.
As a "thank you" for participation in this important industry training, each registrant will receive:
- Tote bag to hold program material.
- Propane Emergencies Handbook (third edition).
- Propane Emergencies Marketer Outreach Toolkit including emergency responder DVD.
- Event T-shirt.
- DOT-ER Guidebook.
- Sample composite safety plug.
Meals and lodging are available at the academy. The following options are available:
(A) Responder Training; lodging September 13, 14, and 15; three meals on September 14, 15, and 16; Cost: $175
(B) Responder Training; no lodging; three meals on September 14, 15, and 16; Cost: $90
(C) Refresher Training; lodging September 15; three meals on September 16; Cost: $75
(D) Refresher Training; no lodging; three meals on September 16; Cost: $50
