The NYSAFC Governance Committee announces the following slate of candidates for 2022-2023.

Proposed Changes to By-Laws
The first reading of the proposed changes to the NYSAFC By-Laws was conducted at the association membership meeting on October 2, 2021, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The second reading will take place on June 16, 2022, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown – Finger Lakes Ballroom during the 116th Annual Conference General Session in Syracuse, N.Y. The proposed changes are as follows (brackets indicate items to be deleted and underlines indicate items to be added/changed):
Article I
Dues
Section 5. Dues must be paid [thirty (30)] sixty (60) days prior to the Annual Conference to be eligible to vote on Association matters.
Article III
Nominations and Elections
[Section 1. The Nominating and Election Committee shall present its report before the conference assembled, giving a complete list of the nominations for elective offices of the Association, The presiding officer shall then call for any nominations from the floor for any elective office. Nominations from the floor shall require the nominee’s concurrence in writing or verbal concurrence from the floor at the time of nomination, and shall state the position they seek. A candidate can only seek nomination to one position. After calling three (3) times for any further nominations, the presiding officer shall declare the nominations closed.]
Section 1. To be nominated for elective offices of the Association, a member in good standing must submit a letter of intent to the Governance Committee at least sixty (60) days prior to the Annual Conference. There shall be no nominations from the floor at this meeting.

NYSAFC Voting and Election Guidelines
Voting for the proposed changes to the By-Laws and the election of officers (if necessary) will take place during the 116th Annual Conference in Syracuse, N.Y., at The Oncenter – Room 8, on Friday, June 17, 2022, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. You must be an Active Member (dues paid 30 days prior to the Annual Meeting), have joined the association 90 days prior to the Annual Meeting, and have government photo identification with you in order to vote on association matters.
