"The Active Shooter and the Fire/Rescue Service" with Lieutenant Gary Benedict (FDNY EMS) and Detective/Ex-Captain David Norman (NYPD Emergency Service Unit/Inwood F.D.) will be held at 10 sites across New York state from February through October.
 
The conference, co-hosted by OFPC and NYSAFC, will be held May 5-7, 2017, at the New York State Academy of Fire Science.

The New York State Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Services (DHSES) announced that Francis "Skip" Nerney has been named to lead the New York State Office of Fire Prevention & Control (OFPC) upon the retirement of Bryant Stevens.
