Past Chief Harold A. “Smitty” Smith Jr. passed away on September 4, 2024. A 60-year veteran of the fire service, Smith served as chief of Nedrow Fire Department for three terms and was an Onondaga County deputy fire coordinator for 25 years. He served on the NYSAFC board of directors from 2004-2016 and was a member emeritus of the association's Annual Conference Committee.
