On November 19, Round Lake Volunteer Fire Department and Berkshire Fire District hosted "Fire Behavior From the Outside," the latest Regional HOT program available from the association. This two-hour course includes a lecture and interactive demonstration using a 10-square-foot dollhouse prop. The unit provides a safe, inexpensive way to discuss fireground strategies/tactics to improve firefighter safety and victim survivability. This course can be delivered on any day of the week at any time and is ideal for a fire department drill.

During a board of directors meeting on November 8 at association headquarters, Director William K. Owen III (Stittville Fire Department) was sworn in as 2nd vice president, filling the position held by the late James Hare, who passed away in August. Owen has been serving on the board since 2017. In recognition of Jim Hare's dedication to the emergency services and to the association, at the Fall Combined Board and Committee Meeting held in September, the board passed a resolution and issued a proclamation appointing James E. Hare NYSAFC president emeritus.
