Knife River Names New Safety Director

Knife River Corporation, an AGC member in multiple states, announced recently that Jeff Lambert has been promoted to safety director, effective April 28. Lambert will report directly to Knife River President Dave Barney.

Safety is a core value at the construction materials and contracting company, making this a centrally important position.

“We want to make sure that every employee on every jobsite — and every member of the public who passes through a jobsite — goes home safely at the end of the day,” Barney said. “Jeff has been a safety manager at Knife River for the last seven years, so he understands our culture, our programs and our people. We’re proud to be a safety leader in our industry and Jeff is going to help us improve as we continue toward our goal of zero injuries.”

Lambert joined Knife River in 1999. He has been director of safety for the company’s North Central Region — which includes operations in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota — since 2007.

“I’m excited to have this opportunity to lead our company’s safety efforts,” Lambert said. “This is definitely not a one-man show. We like to say that everyone at Knife River is a safety manager, and I believe that we can all work together to keep each other safe and continue to make this a great place to work.”

Lambert will be based out of the company’s offices in Sauk Rapids, Minn.
