Alamo Iron Works Acquires SGS Industrial Supplies Inc.

Alamo Iron Works, an AGC of America San Antonio Chapter member and a 137‐year‐old San Antonio company, bought the assets of SGS Industrial Supplies Inc., the leading distributor of steel and industrial products in the Rio Grande Valley.

Alamo Iron Works (AIW) will expand its distribution network in South Texas by combining its operations with SGS. But AIW is no stranger to the Rio Grande Valley. The company served customers in this area for more than 80 years. The combined company will provide increased field sales support, unmatched inventory levels, and a comprehensive catalogue of industrial supply and steel products and services.

Both companies are deeply committed to exceptional customer service and plan to take the best ideas and practices from the two companies to create an even stronger organization. Together they are extending their joint commitment to the local community by continuing full operation of both SGS distribution centers in Pharr and Brownsville.
