Cadence McShane Completes 51,000-sq-ft Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility

Will Hodges, president of Cadence McShane Construction Company, an AGC Houston Chapter and TEXO member, is pleased to announce that the firm has recently completed the construction of Legacy at Bear Creek, a new 78-unit assisted living and memory care facility on behalf of co-developers, PinPoint Commercial, L.P. and Thrive Senior Living.  The 51,000-sq-ft residential complex is located on a 6.8-acre site at 200 Keller Smithfield Road South within the Keller Town Center, a 340-acre mixed-use planned development in Keller, Tex.

The new two-story senior complex features an attractive masonry and natural stone exterior highlighted by an expansive cedar porte-cochère entryway. Construction of the interior areas included upscale furnishings and finishes that are designed to meet the needs of today’s generation of seniors. The well-appointed common areas at Legacy at Bear Creek include technology stations featuring webcam computers allowing residents to remain in touch with family and friends and individual suites that offer wireless care management and tele-medicine systems. Cadence McShane also completed all sitework and landscaping including well-manicured detention ponds, outdoor seating areas and lush walking trails safely secured within two enclosed courtyards.  

Each memory care suite completed by Cadence McShane also incorporates SimpleC Companion, an innovative, non-drug therapy used to promote memory retention.  This system utilizes a fully-customizable touch screen display that blends technology and behavioral therapy into an interactive environment that stimulates recognition, response time and entertainment.  In addition, the paint colors, flooring, lighting and other design elements have been modeled after successful trends in memory care treatment.
