Commodore Builders Named 100 Best Places to Work

Commodore Builders, a leading general contractor and construction management firm in Newton, Mass., has been named one of The Boston Globe’s 100 Best Places to Work in 2013. The survey, which was distributed to more than 76,000 employees, highlighted how a positive company culture and employee appreciation are top factors that contributed to employee happiness, rivaling quantitative factors such as pay and benefits.

Founded in 2002 by Joe Albanese, Commodore Builders, an AGC of Massachusetts member, provides a full range of construction services, from project conception, to pre-construction, execution, close-out and warranty service. Unlike other firms, Commodore’s executives are actively involved in every project. They’re in the field, leading project teams, listening to clients and driving the strategies that ensure successful project outcome.

Additionally, Commodore is engaged with several pharmaceutical firms, including Biogen Idec, Shire and Merrimack Pharmaceuticals. Looking forward to 2014, Commodore has a number of projects lined up throughout the Boston area, including work with Urban Meritage LLC on an interior and exterior renovation on Newbury Street and renovation of 126,000 square feet of space on seven floors of the Josiah Quincy Building in Quincy, for State Street Bank.
