Parrish Construction Group, Inc. Promotes New President

Parrish Construction Group, Inc., a Georgia-based commercial construction company and an AGC Georgia member, has announced that Rodney Smith has been promoted to president. 

Smith began his career at Parrish in 2002 as an assistant project manager. Through hard work and his commitment to customer service, he was quickly promoted to project manager. After demonstrating strong leadership and the ability to manage customer expectations on a project basis, Smith was tapped to serve as Parrish’s director of business development in 2007.  In 2010, he was promoted to vice president while continuing to lead the business development efforts.  In 2012, Smith was promoted to senior vice president and also became an equity partner in the business. During his tenure as senior vice president, he has been responsible for all construction operations in what has proven to be the company’s most dynamic period of growth since its inception in 1995. 

Smith succeeds Dave Cyr, one of Parrish’s founding partners, who has served as president of the company for the past 15 years. Cyr will continue as chief executive officer on a full-time basis, serving as a mentor for Smith.  "It is incredible how far Rodney has come in such a relatively short period of time," said Cyr. "He’s a natural leader and a quick learner; he excels in bringing people together and challenging them to be their very best."

Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the former Southern Polytechnic State University, now known as Kennesaw State University.  He currently serves as vice chair on the University’s Construction Department Advisory Board.
