JE Dunn Construction begins renovations on the 20-story, 400,000-square-foot office building located at 5444 Westheimer, Houston in August.
The $2.1-million renovation project will consist of interior modifications to the first floor entry, lobby and common spaces. A multi-purpose conference room and security center will be added, along with mechanical improvements.
Exterior modifications include new sloped glazing over the main office building entry, utilizing the existing structure at the building entry canopy. Additionally, new pavers, landscaping and deck coating will contribute to the improvements.
The facility has two levels of parking below a raised plaza deck. Ramps provide access from the street down to the lower level parking garage and up to surface parking on the plaza deck. A new ramp up to the plaza deck will provide a central axis drive into the complex.
The project team is pursuing LEED Certification. The project is slated for completion in early 2013.
