Richardson Joins Tarlton as Corporate Safety Director
Tarlton Corp., a St. Louis-based general contracting and construction management firm, has hired Steve Richardson as corporate safety director. Richardson will oversee Tarlton’s entire safety program. He is charged with promoting and maintaining Tarlton’s elite safety culture throughout the organization, as well as managing resources to effectively protect personnel on site, including all Tarlton employees and subcontractors, and with managing corporate and client exposure to risk. Tarlton is an AGC of Missouri, AGC of St. Louis and Central Illinois Builders of AGC member.
Richardson brings more than two decades of construction safety leadership experience to Tarlton, having previously served as corporate safety director for St. Louis-based Clayco. There, he managed a staff of up to 14 safety professionals, managed contractor safety participation and compliance, worker and subcontractor safety compliance and the safety aspect of the contractor-coordinated insurance program for projects located across the United States.

Richardson is an OSHA 500 Instructor for the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s 10- and 30-hour Outreach training, as well as an MSHA Certified Instructor. He is a certified trainer in numerous areas and serves on the AGC of St. Louis Executive Safety and Health Committee, Training and Education Subcommittee and several other subcommittees.
A resident of Imperial, Mo., Richardson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial safety engineering from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg.
