W.E. O'Neil Named General Contractor for Lincoln-Touhy Site in Illinois
North Capital Group recently announced the addition of Chicago-based W.E. O’Neil Construction Company, a Builders Association member, as general contractor for the 11-acre, mixed-use site located at the intersection of the Lincoln and Touhy avenues in north suburban Lincolnwood, Ill.
"We’re thrilled to have W.E. O’Neil onboard as the project’s general contractor," said Neal Stein, project lead and principal with North Capital Group. "For nearly the last century, W.E. O’Neil has been the first name in Chicago area construction management and their local market experience is second to none."
W.E. O’Neil joins the team that also includes joint-venture partners, Urban Retail Properties and First Hospitality Group, along with Architect of Record, Antunovich Associates.
"North Capital Group has assembled a top-line design, leasing and construction team for The Shoppes at Lincoln Pointe project," said Louis Reiner, Senior Vice President with W.E. O’Neil. "We look forward to doing our part by breaking ground next year that will bring new life to the Lincoln-Touhy corridor."
W.E. O’Neil will manage construction of a new, mixed-use destination that will include restaurants, retail businesses, professional offices and a hotel, all organized around a public gathering space with a town square feel.
Located just east of the Edens Expressway (I-94) and a few blocks north of the Chicago border, the site has languished for the past six years since the closure of the Purple Hotel in 2007. The site’s redevelopment will be one of the largest in the Village of Lincolnwood’s history. Construction is expected to last about two years.
