On Tuesday, Dec. 2, PC Construction was honored with a Best Builders Award by the Associated General Contractors of Vermont for the construction of the $31.3 million Vermont Public Health Laboratory.

 

The completed 60,000-sq-ft Vermont Public Health facility in Colchester, Vermont was built to replace the previous laboratory, which lacked the space and modern technologies essential to meet the research needs of the Vermont Department of Health and its partners. The new facility is now among the most technologically advanced in the state, and equipped to detect and analyze potential biological, toxicological, chemical and radiological threats to the health and wellbeing of Vermonters.

 

This is the second year in a row PC Construction has been recognized in the Building/New Construction category. Last year, the general contractor earned the award for the construction of Hotel Vermont, which was recently named one of Condé Nast Traveler’s 12 Best New Hotels in the World.

The PC Construction team was led by Matt Cooke, project manager, and Dan Salvatore, project superintendent. Design partners included architectural firms HDR Architects and Scott + Partners Architecture, and site engineers Krebs & Lansing.
