S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. (S.W. COLE), a geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and geo-environmental services firm and member of AGC of Maine and AGC of New Hampshire, has formed a wholly owned subsidiary named S. W. Cole Explorations, LLC (S.W. COLEx) . The new company will support S.W.Cole’s geotechnical engineering and geoenvironmental projects by performing test boring explorations.
The formation of S.W.COLEx will allow S.W.COLE more flexibility in scheduling test boring explorations, and more control over budgeting, explained Chad Michaud, PE, executive vice president and chief operations officer. "Until now, we’ve had to rely on subcontractors to drill the test borings associated with our projects, which made us dependent on those subcontractors’ schedules," Michaud said. "S.W.COLE will now have more control over our drilling schedule, and we can be more responsive to our clients because of this new venture."
The company will service S.W.COLE’s projects throughout New England from its base in the Manchester, New Hampshire area office and is led by a team of seasoned professionals. Kevin Hanscom, a geotechnical engineer who has worked for S.W.COLE in the Bangor, Maine office for more than 20 years, has been named general manager and is responsible for scheduling, budgeting, billing and management of operations. Working with Kevin is Bob Marcoux, who has 30 years of experience as a drill operator performing geotechnical and environmental test borings.
S.W.COLE is a 35-year-old employee-owned firm of over 60 scientists, engineers and technicians providing geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, geoenvironmental and test boring exploration services for projects throughout New England.
