Hill & Wilkinson General Contractors Creates $25 Million Special Projects Division
When Hill & Wilkinson first started saying yes to niche jobs like the south dock repairs for Quaker Oats in 1992, CEO Paul Driscoll said he never thought it would spur a Special Projects Division, much less one with $25 million in revenue. Recently, Hill & Wilkinson announced the new division, which was created to meet increasing demand from clients who need teams that can work quickly and efficiently on challenging and unique projects. The Special Projects Division will work with a wide range of budgets and complexities and serve over half a dozen industries.
"Our clients love that we can help them on any project scope or size by offering these niche services with the backing of our entire company’s resources," said Driscoll. "This is a significant factor in executing our growth strategies and has been part of our success in retaining existing clients, as well as attracting new ones," said Driscoll.
The new division is headed by Matt Shem, who was promoted to group manager last year and has been with Hill & Wilkinson since 2005. "Our goal is to provide value, expertise and trust for new and existing clients," says Shem. "We provide clients the comfort of working with one contractor during the life of a facility, regardless of the project size or complexity."
Most of the projects are management intensive, schedule driven and/or require extra technical support. Projects include interior finish-out, renovations/remodels, building envelope, repairs and specialty construction.
Current projects include:
•Southwest Airlines Mockingbird Lane Parking Lot, Ramp Expansion and Wash Bay Upgrades
•City of Grand Prairie Façade Improvements
•Baylor Surgical Hospital at Las Colinas Remodel
Industries served by the Special Projects Division include aviation, commercial, food and beverage, manufacturing, institutional and healthcare, among others. The division has completed projects for clients including Alcon, Bell Helicopter, Cummins, Encore Wire, Frito-Lay, Raytheon, Staples, Southwest Airlines and WhiteWave Foods to name a few.
With revenues of approximately $450 million, Hill & Wilkinson is a diversified general contractor with expertise in all facets of ground up and renovation construction. Hill & Wilkinson’s main office is located in Richardson, Texas with offices in Central Texas and East Texas. For more information, visit the company’s website at www.hill-wilkinson.com.
