Suffolk Construction Hires Charles D. Avolio to Lead NYC Operation
Suffolk Construction Company, Inc., an AGC of New York State LLC and AGC of Massachusetts member, has hired industry veteran Charles D. Avolio as its new president and general manager of the New York City region. Suffolk also unveiled its new office in the heart of Manhattan at One Pennsylvania Plaza as a launch point for pursuing strategic project opportunities within the city and surrounding areas.
In his new role at Suffolk, Avolio will be responsible for providing strategic direction for all operations, overseeing the management of projects and client relationships, and leading local branding and work acquisition efforts. Avolio has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, where he was responsible for oversight of project operations, profit and loss, business development, strategic planning, health and safety, community affairs, and labor relations. Avolio served as principal-in-charge for several of the company’s signature projects including the redevelopment at World Trade Center, the New York City Police Academy and New York Presbyterian Hospital, among others.
