Atlantic Constructors, Inc. (ACI), an AGC of Virginia member, is pleased to announce that Evan Shriver has been appointed to the position of chief executive officer. Most recently, he had been serving as executive vice president of construction operations at ACI. Art Hungerford, the company’s founding CEO, will transition to the role of chairman.
With over 15 years of experience managing the installation of large industrial and commercial mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems, Shriver has also worked extensively in building information modeling (BIM), virtual construction and 3D coordination. Prior to joining ACI in 2013, he has worked for several other major mechanical contractors.
Some of the multi-million-dollar construction projects that Shriver has engaged with over the course of his career include the Winchester Medical Center campus expansion, the Battle Building at the University of Virginia’s Children’s Hospital, VCU Perioperative, VCU Children’s Hospital of Richmond, and the VCU Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, Va.
ACI’s portfolio of construction projects currently underway and in the pipeline for completion has expanded significantly in recent years. As CEO, Shriver will collaborate with ACI leaders on long-range strategies to manage growth along all the company’s lines of business across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
“I am truly honored, humbled and thankful for this opportunity,” said Shriver. “I appreciate the faith that ACI has placed in me to continue the exceptional work that our clients have come to expect from our company over its long history. We have a great team, and I am confident that we can build on our past success to achieve new heights in the 2020s and beyond.”
Shriver obtained his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Virginia Tech and he earned an MBA at James Madison University. A Virginia Registered Professional Engineer, he holds a Certificate of Management in Lean construction, is LEED-accredited and is an ASSE-certified Medical Gas Inspector, among other industry credentials. He has served in many capacities within the industry, including project manager, senior project manager, director of building information modeling, director of project management, operations manager and executive vice president—and now CEO.
“We congratulate Evan on this well-deserved promotion,” said Art Hungerford. “He has the experience, talent and forward-thinking vision to lead ACI through the current period of rapid growth and into the future as our company continues to evolve.”
