The Kansas Contractors Association launched a new advertising and education campaign designed to protect highway funding and educate state and federal officials about the economic and safety benefits of good roads. The new effort, called "Save Kansas Roads," will feature highway billboard and semi-truck ads, social media, direct mailings and public outreach to highlight the connection between good roads and a strong state economy, association officials said.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Alabama/Gulf Coast Chapter named Hargrove Engineers + Constructors (an Alabama AGC member) Teammate and leukemia survivor Bob Mobley the 2014 LLS Man of the Year on June 12, 2014. Mobley and his teammates raised over $40,000 during the 10-week campaign through a variety of fundraising events, including a clay shoot tournament, chef showdown, beer + bingo and weekly giveaways.

PJ Dick, a Master Builders' Association of Western Pennsylvania member, is expanding into the Eastern part of the Commonwealth with the opening of an office in Exton, Pennsylvania. As one of the largest Pennsylvania-based contractors, PJ Dick’s resume includes notable projects such as the 18,300-seat CONSOL Energy Center arena; the 33-story Tower at PNC Plaza, which will be the greenest skyrise in the world; the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh; and Carnegie Mellon University’s Gates Center for Computer Science and Hillman Center for Future - Generation Technologies.

Suffolk Construction, an AGC of Massachusetts and AGC of Metropolitan Washington DC member, will be launching its third annual Subcontractor Development Series to assist disadvantaged, minority, and women-owned trade subcontractor firms in fostering long-term relationships with Suffolk. Provided at no cost to selected participants, the eight-session program will begin Thursday, September 4.
