Brent Booker, secretary-treasurer of North America’s Building Trades Unions (the Building and Construction Trades Department of AFL-CIO), will talk about the building trades’ current priorities and initiatives, and will be available to respond to questions about contractor concerns.

In a city known for its festivals and celebrations, AGC of America kicked off its 99th Annual Convention on Sunday in New Orleans. The Opening Welcome Reception began at 5:30 p.m., when doors opened to the expansive Equipment, Technology & Construction Solutions Expo. The list of exhibitors this year is extensive, along with the services and solutions they offer. And, unique to the conference this year is the AGC Centennial Exhibit, which depicts the association's 100-year history. Keeping consistent with the flair and fun of the city, the Opening Welcome Reception had live music, good food, entertaining games and lots of laughter. The networking began almost immediately, with old friends reconnecting and new friendships forged. It was a great start to what surely will be an even better week.
