Internet Spring Cleaning

Upon visiting a website, a complete copy of that site and all the pictures on it is downloaded and stored on the visiting computer. This is called the cached copy of the website and it's stored for 1-999 days depending on the settings on the machine. The more Internet surfing done, the more cached copies of websites are saved.

Here’s how to quickly delete cached copies and how to set the time a cached copy will remain on a computer.

In Microsoft Internet Explorer:
• Look for Tools and then Internet Options
• Look for Temporary Internet Files in the window that appears. Pressing the buttons can delete cookies (small files some sites place on a computer to track visits) or files (actual web pages and images). Clear the browsing history and/or set the number of days the computer will record.
