Every year, AGC of America, in partnership with Sage, surveys contractors from across the United States to uncover industry trends. Results from the 2020 Construction Hiring and Business Outlook survey found that construction companies are anticipating a strong demand for their services this year and are using technology to enhance productivity. Here is an overview of the key technology takeaways from the survey.

On Jan. 31, the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OSD) released the final version of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). The Department of Defense (DOD) will begin including the final CMMC model as “go/no go” in all new solicitations starting in late summer/early fall of 2020. On the same day, defense officials held a news conference [ ] discussing the final version of CMMC.

The exponential growth of big data has had a profound effect on the heavy building materials industry. Per Techjury, every person this year will generate 1.7 megabytes of data in just a second. In 2019, internet users generate about 2.5 quintillion bytes of data each day.

For example, a reader could read “Secret Agent of Terra” which ends at about the middle of the book.
