2019 IT FORUM CONFERENCE NEWS
Nathan Wood has emerged as a thought leader for innovation across the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. His experience has led him to realize how proven technology solutions can too often result in adoption failure and lost ROI. As founder and chief enabling officer of SpectrumAEC, Nathan supports the digital transformation of AEC organizations and design-build teams by aligning the needs of people and process before deciding on the best-fit technology. Nathan, this year's IT Forum keynote speaker, will dazzle attendees with his enthusiasm, energy and innovative ideas. TECHNOLOGY TIDBITS
At first glance, there’s nothing remarkable about SolePower’s latest work boot prototype. The East Liberty-based startup has gone through at least 20 other iterations of the boot, and this one took about six months to create. The footwear looks normal, but after a few steps, rectangular sections in the heels illuminate a bright orange, reminiscent of the lights inside the Fort Pitt Tunnel. That’s when you know they’re charging. SOURCE: PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE

For the next month, select articles on mobile from categories like business, lifestyle, technology and entertainment will include an option for people to listen to rather than read the content. CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY SPOTLIGHT
BY CHRIS HOLBERT, CEO, SECURATRACThe construction industry was the number one workplace for fatalities in 2015 according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). There were a total of 4,379 worker fatalities in private industry in 2015 and 21.4 percent of those deaths were workers in construction. These numbers make it evident that construction executives need solutions for monitoring the health and safety of their workers. Recent technological advances can help workers get the most efficient means possible to report and react to emergencies.
