Description of project: This three story monumental staircase was created for a bank as a centerpiece for their flagship location. The client wanted something bold, forged, and not overly ornate, with a limited budget. The budget challenge forced the Robert Thomas Iron Design team to come up with a design featuring many forged elements, as well as clean, quick and precise fabrication. All parts were forged in-house, and a special hydraulic press was custom built to form the main, oval elements with pinched holes at the top and bottom.
