This piece sits at the entrance to a scenic city. The 61-foot-tall sign is evocative of scaffolding and was inspired by the industrial mills of the area. Made of more than a linear mile of 2″ stainless steel pipe, the angles of the horizontal pieces are all angled as if they radiate from a single point, and the angles increase as the sign goes up. This results in over 1,000 parts – about half of which are unique.
JunoWorks designed all of the part files which were used to cut the 2″ pipe on a six-axis tube laser. The piece was welded and assembled in the shop and then disassembled and shipped to the city, where the team installed it.
