METALfab2018 was a BIG Success!
THANK YOU to everyone who helped make it successful.
The second year of the co-location with NOMMA and American Fence Association (AFA) proved to be another success. There was plenty to learn, lots to see, and people to meet for all who attended. NOMMA also celebrated its 60th Anniversary in style! Look for detailed coverage of the events that took place at METALfab2018 in the March/April issue of O&MM Fabricator.
Next year's METALfab will held in March in Indianapolis, Indiana. New for next year - International Door Association (IDA) will join NOMMA and AFA to provide an even more dynamic and integrated industry event. You will not want to miss it!

Some [companies] pay employees based on the amount of work they complete because they find that a piece-rate structure leads to greater productivity on the jobsite than paying an hourly wage. But that depends on the type of project, as well as many other factors.
"If you've got the opportunity and have a well-defined scope [of work], piece work always makes sense to me," said Andru Ramker, president of Hawkeye Construction of South Florida in Safety Harbor, Fla.

There are many reasons why employers should aim for an age-diverse workforce. For one, age discrimination is illegal (when it comes to those 40 and older) and many attest that diversity boosts morale and innovation. But many employers tend to forget about age when it comes to diversity initiatives.

This article provides safety tips for employees working on a jobsite. Although the tips are related to construction job sites, many (if not all) of the tips mentioned in this article can be directly applied to our job sites as well.
Job site safety should be the number one priority for any company. It’s the right thing to do, it helps improve morale, and it keeps projects on schedule and under budget.
