Trades strengthen the American economy and keep tradition and the entrepreneurial spirit alive. Without vital education and training programs for the current and next generation of industry professionals, we could lose these critical skills. The NOMMA Education Foundation (NEF) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to funding quality education programs for the growth and benefit of the ornamental and miscellaneous metals industry. NEF knows you are committed to the industry and asks you to consider a tax-deductible donation to support our efforts. We know this is a trying time and appreciate a donation of any amount. Donations can be made online or by mail to NOMMA Education Foundation, 4100 International Parkway, Suite 2400, Carrollton, TX 75007.

To honor the memory of NEF friend and colleague Todd Kinnikin of Eureka Forge, the UMWC and NEF have partnered to create an outstanding education and networking experience for a NOMMA member. The UMWC/NEF have committed to provide a reimbursement of up to $1,000.00 to the one person to whom the scholarship is awarded. The reimbursement is to cover the recipient's cost of a registration and expenses to attend METALfab. At the close of METALfab, dated receipts must be furnished to the scholarship chair and upon review the receipt will be reimbursed up to $1,000.00. If you are an owner or employee of a NOMMA member company engaged in the fabrication of ornamental and miscellaneous metals, you are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Pfizer, Inc. and BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine with an emergency use authorization Dec. 11, making it the first mRNA vaccine to receive any sort of approval from the agency. Now, public health officials face the monumental task of distributing the vaccine throughout the country, a delicate process due to the cold-storage requirements of the vaccine. Pfizer's vaccine, as well as the soon-to-be approved vaccine produced by Moderna, were produced in record time, and FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn is proud of the rapid development of the vaccines. “The tireless work to develop a new vaccine to prevent this novel, serious, and life-threatening disease in an expedited timeframe after its emergence is a true testament to scientific innovation and public-private collaboration worldwide,” Hahn said.
