Last week, nearly 400 individuals attended the annual NPMA Legislative Day event, designed to advocate for issues important to the pest management industry. The week began with riveting keynote speakers including Rick Santorum, Sean Spicer, Pete Hegseth, and Howard Schultz, and culminated with a special presentation by Mississippi Senator, Cindy Hyde-Smith.
The industry made almost 200 visits to the Hill, educating members on tax, public health and permit reform issues. The pest management industry is committed to building bipartisan relationships in Congress and positioning NPMA as the leading voice on any legislation that impacts protecting public health and property from pests.
There were two awards presented during the event, the FMC Legislative Day Award was presented to Jim Steed of Neighborly Pest Management based in Roseville, CA and Dave Ramsey of Copesan Services was named the 2019 NPMA PestVets Veteran of the Year!
We thank all those that spent time with us in Washington, D.C. last week and look forward to building on the great work accomplished by the many Senate and House visits that were made on behalf of the industry.
