On March 15, 2019, the DC Department of Health (DOH) proposed rodent control regulations that require hiring PMPs for treatment in certain situations. One provision requires that if there is a health code violation at commercial properties or apartment buildings due to a rodent infestation, then the property owner/management company must hire a PMP to treat for rodents and submit proof that a PMP was hired to manage the rodent infestation. Additionally, for all property owners, including single family residences are required to hire a PMP if there are rodent burrows present in the yard. NPMA supported this rule and is pleased that it became final on June 3, 2019. Please view NPMA’s comments here.
