WV Governor Urged to Veto 4644

NPMA Vice President of Public Policy Ashley Amidon travelled to Charleston WV recently to join a meeting organized by WVPMA to lobby the Governor against signing WV HB 4644 into law. This bill would allow anyone to apply pesticides commercially without any training, a businesses license, or any registration with the state, and will pose serious challenges to public health protection. WV SPAR Nick Raschella has been instrumental in leading the WVPMA efforts to fight this bill, but unfortunately despite emails, calls and letters, the bill has passed both chambers and is now with the Governor. Multiple WVPMA and NPMA members were on hand to join the meeting, where the Governor’s office was urged to veto this bill. The Governor has until March 30th to sign or veto all bills, so NPMA will continue to provide support to the WVPMA during this time as we continue to advocate for a veto.
