PPMA’s AI Research Reveals Consumer Conversations About Rodents in the Bathroom up 124% in August

Engagement around the topic of earwigs up 230%

To keep a pulse on consumer pest concerns, the Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), the consumer marketing arm of NPMA, uses Artificial Intelligence to accurately assess public opinion on a given topic by generating randomized, controlled samples of the population through online media and using text analytics.

In its most recent PPMA Update, a monthly newsletter shared with investors, they reported their August results. According to PPMA’s AI research, bed bugs and spiders saw the highest increase in engagement out of any other core pest in August at 6% and 4%, respectively. Engagement around the topic of earwigs also saw a staggering increase at 230%. Most surprising, however, is the stark increase in engagement on the topic of mice in Oregon at 5,292% and mosquitoes in Minnesota at 3,979%. Additionally, rodent sightings in the bathroom increased by 124% from the previous month.
