This week, NPMA staff met with the offices of Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI-04), Rep. Lou Correa (D-CA-46), and Rep. Mark Alford (R-MO-04). During these meetings, NPMA requested that these offices submit state-level pesticide preemption as a Farm Bill priority in the House of Representatives Farm Bill priority portal, which closes June 9th. NPMA will continue meeting with key stakeholders before the submission deadline, including cosponsors of HR 7266, which was the former Rep. Rodney Davis's standalone bill that aimed to codify state oversight of pesticides at the state level.
NPMA staff also attended a fundraiser for Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA), who represents a state with a large NPMA member company presence. Fundraisers like these are a great opportunity for NPMA staff to highlight the outstanding work that the pest management industry is doing to protect food, health, and property.
