Occasional invaders and bed bugs capture most search interest
The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), the consumer marketing arm of NPMA, manages a robust digital presence of consumer websites, including PestWorld.org and PestWorldForKids.org in addition to a variety of microsites. These properties allow PPMA to educate consumer audiences about pest prevention and the value of partnering with a pest control professional while also establishing NPMA as the go-to resource and authority for pest-related advice and content.
In its most recent PPMA Update, a monthly newsletter shared with investors, PPMA shared that PestWorld.org and PestWorldForKids.org saw nearly 400,000 total sessions in March – a 25% Month-over-Month increase. Stink bugs and boxelder bugs continue to be of top interest to site visitors, but as we inch closer to travel season, its Bed Bug Pest Guide saw nearly 9,000 pageviews in March. In fact, traffic to the Pest Guide section in general was up 46% MoM, indicating that there is a renewed and active interest in pest activity as spring brings out the bugs. Additional pests of interest included silverfish, carpenter ants and jumping spiders.
