NPMA educates consumer audience on spring and summer pest prevention
The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), the consumer marketing arm of NPMA, leads the charge on educating Americans on the threats posed by pests and the importance of working with a pest control professional through their consumer media relations efforts.
In the midst of peak pest season, PPMA’s education efforts are imperative as consumers seek guidance on how to address pest issues. In its most recent PPMA Update, a monthly newsletter shared with investors, they reported their April media coverage highlights. PPMA’s program kicked off the month with an exciting article on Realtor.com where they shared information about carpet beetles. This article was picked up by several outlets, including SFGate and Chron.com. NPMA also appeared in a live TV interview on The Weather Channel that discussed the group’s Bug Barometer® predictions and highlighted Tick Awareness Week and the importance of tick prevention. They ended the month with two great articles on Good Housekeeping Online, one about fleas and one about spiders. Both articles included expert insight from the NPMA and included key messaging to call a pest control professional for assistance. As a bonus, MSN Lifestyle picked up the article on spiders.
Local radio stations in Central New York also featured information from PestWorld.org about stink bugs on CNY News, WIBX-AM Online and Lite 98.7. Additional coverage includes features on Times Leader Online and in the print editions of The San Diego Union Tribune, The Times Leader, Quad Community Press and White Bear Press.
PPMA’s also secured strong coverage with commercial media outlets for National Pest Management Month on Building Services Management, CleanLink and Facility Executive Online.
