Have you ever compared your neighbor’s lawn to your own? Making comparisons is human nature, and it can be an important driver for improvement. Benchmarking in business is a form of financial comparison. Lining up your monthly financials against an industry average can aid in critical decision making in your business to help steer growth and success. This is why the National Pest Management Association needs your help!
Participate in NPMA’s Financial Benchmarking Survey and contribute to a dataset that will shed light on the pest management industry’s latest operating ratios.
Colorado Pest Control Association (CPCA) Holds First Annual Clay Shoot for Issues Defense Fund
Over 30 CPCA members gathered together to defend their industry on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at their First Annual Sporting Clay Shoot to raise money for their Issues Defense Fund. It was an incredibly strong showing for both attendance and money-raised, as CPCA raised over $8,000! CPCA honored Rep. Leslie Herod, as CPCA’s Legislative Champion for 2019, who sponsored the recently passed bed bug bill – HB 1328 that was signed by Governor Polis and enacted into law in May of this year. Rep. Hugh McKean and Sen. Rob Woodward participated and engaged with CPCA members for the day. NPMA is really impressed with CPCA, as they are firing on all cylinders. CPCA is evidence of our industry not only surviving but thriving! Excellent job!
Last week, NPMA staff held discussions with DC public health advocates and organizations regarding drafting and passing a bed bug bill in the DC City Council. Our industry and these groups all agree that every individual deserves to live a life pest-free and that we must enact policies into law that protect public health. Legislation passed in both Connecticut and Colorado will serve as models, as these groups believe they are excellent pieces of legislation. NPMA will draft the legislation and engage in a stakeholder process to ensure that all appropriate entities are heard. We look forward to unveiling the legislation later this year. We will keep members apprised of developments.
