Nominee submission deadline: March 15 Each year, NPMA works diligently to identify and recruit members to serve on our association’s standing committees and interest groups. In an effort to foster fresh ideas and allow all NPMA members to share their expertise, we are calling on you to nominate yourself or pass this survey along to an industry colleague to serve on an NPMA committee or interest group. Your involvement and leadership will help us chart a successful future for the association and the industry. Final decisions will be made by the end of May and communicated at the beginning of June in time for the committee cycle which begins July 1st.
Watch This: Termite Awareness Week!
Spring is waiting in the wings and talk is turning back to termites. Although more and more consumers are beginning to understand the threats these voracious pests pose, the Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), which serves as the public outreach arm of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), knows the importance of keeping consumers engaged in this important dialogue. During Termite Awareness Week, March 8th to 14th, 2020, PPMA is encouraging the industry to take part in the annual observance and use PPMA’s marketing materials to teach consumers about the importance of protecting against termites.
Last week, Dr. Jim Fredericks, NPMA’s Vice President of Technical and Regulatory Affairs, was appointed to the U.S. EPA’s Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee (PPDC). The PPDC is a Federal Advisory Committee that meets with EPA on a regular basis to discuss pesticide regulatory, policy, and program implementation issues. Membership on the PPDC is a two-year commitment, during which NPMA will represent the structural pest control industry and its perspectives on the committee.
