Last week, EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs announced that the comment period for Sulfuryl Fluoride Draft Interim Re-Entry Mitigation Measures and Registration Review Draft Risk Assessments will be extended for an additional 60 days. More than 40 letters requesting extension requests were received by the agency from entities such as pest control companies, registrants, universities, pest control regulatory officials, state pest control associations and NPMA. The comment period is now scheduled to close on September 23. NPMA is working closely with fumigators, registrants, state associations, regulators and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive comments for EPA in response to their proposals. Academy 2021 is bringing together nearly 200 emerging leaders in the pest management industry for three days of leadership development, team building, and FUN! Yesterday, the Professional Women in Pest Management (PWIPM) participated in a half-day yoga workshop to recharge their mind, body and spirit before the official Academy events began. Then our Academy team captains gathered for an orientation to pump up the energy and compete in their first Olympic activity, followed by a networking happy hour. Earlier today our golfers headed to Duel in the Desert to support NPMA’s Industry Issues Fund, and we look forward to hearing from our first keynote speaker this afternoon, Janine Driver, who will share her insider secrets on reading emotions and body language to enhance leadership skills. Thank you to all of our participants and sponsors for supporting NPMA’s Academy!
All nominations must be received by August 31, 2021.
