They are recognized for their outstanding contributions to the industry and to the communities they serve. Nominations are due by February 15, 2023. On February 2, Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) reintroduced “Protect America's Children from Toxic Pesticides Act” (PACTPA), as part of a block of legislation collectively known as S. 269. PACTPA aims to rollback preemption, allowing small municipalities to regulate pesticides, causing businesses to know the individual regulations on every pesticide in every single jurisdiction a company operates in. The legislation is also proposing a neonicotinoid ban; However, the structural pest control industry has a nominal effect on pollinator health considering the potential of exposure is unlikely. NPMA is working on formulating a strategy, but upon initial review, Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) is not a cosponsor. We will be working to keep Sen. Padilla off the bill, and to limit any additional cosponsors. We will update our members as we develop our next steps and continue to track this legislation. In the meantime, reach out with any questions!
The Executive Leadership Program (ELP) identifies and trains aspiring association leaders to establish a pipeline of engaged members that represents NPMA’s diverse membership. The two-year curriculum involves professional development, association training, monthly mentoring, and attendance at NPMA events. Paid social campaigns and content syndication strategy provide exceptional results
The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), the consumer marketing arm of NPMA, is known for its year-round communications campaigns to educate the American public about the threats posed by pests and the value of partnering with a pest control professional for their homes and businesses.
To meet consumers where they are, PPMA utilizes digital advertising campaigns to educate consumers on the threats pests pose to both their health and home. The group runs advertising campaigns on popular social media platforms, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and TikTok. They also utilize content syndication where PestWorld.org articles are republished by a third-party website – most notably news outlets like CNN and The New York Post.
In its most recent PPMA Update, a monthly newsletter shared with investors, the group shared its Q4 digital advertising campaigns delivered over 9.3 million impressions in December as folks engaged with strategic content around winter pest threats. In addition to promoting PPMA’s expansive library of resources to the public, these campaigns drove valuable traffic to PestWorld.org. To further boost website traffic, PPMA continued their content syndication campaign which added 48.6 million impressions.
