NPMA staff have continued meeting with key stakeholders on Capitol Hill, including members on and off the House and Senate Agriculture Committees. We started off our week by meeting with Sen. Deb Fisher’s (R-NE) office, who is a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee. During our meeting, we provided staff with background information on our pesticide preemption efforts to-date, and also socialized the importance of including state-level pesticide preemption in the 2023 Farm Bill. Throughout the week, NPMA staff attended swearing in receptions for many Members of Congress and Senators, including Rep. James Comer (R-CA-01), Rep. Nikema Williams (D-GA-05), and Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA). Finally, NPMA staff will be attending a listening session at the Pennsylvania Farm Show this weekend to support House Agriculture Chairman GT Thompson (R-PA-15) as he discusses 2023 Farm Bill priorities. Also in attendance will be several Republican and Democrat members of the House Agriculture committee.
