Last week, NPMA staff met with Sen. Alex Padilla’s (D-CA) office to highlight the great work that NPMA member companies are doing to protect food, property, human health, and the environment. In 2022, Sen. Padilla cosponsored the Protect America’s Children from Toxic Pesticides Act (PACTPA), which attempted to roll back pesticide preemption in the states. PACTPA has been reintroduced in 2023; however, Sen. Padilla has not been named as a co-sponsor. NPMA staff will continue to seek out opportunities to educate Sen. Padilla and his colleagues on the Senate Agriculture Committee about the important work of the pest management industry.
