The Pest Management Foundation Scholarship Program has announced the recipients of its 2022-2023 Student Scholarships. These scholarships were awarded to five outstanding students at accredited entomology programs at U.S. colleges or universities in the amount of $2,000 each. Congratulations to Madison Gits from the University of Florida, Christopher Hayes from North Carolina State University, Jun-Yin Lum from the University of California Riverside, Simona Principato from the University of Kentucky, and Jin-Jia Yu from Rutgers University! Make sure you get your nominations in for the NPMA Gives Award! This award recognizes NPMA member companies that have demonstrated leadership through their dedication and contribution to the good of the community. Last week, NPMA staff attended the Pest Control Operators of California’s Expo 2023 in Monterey, CA. During the Expo’s "Industry Meeting of the Minds” panel, NPMA staff provided updates on our state-level preemption efforts, in addition to our work responding to EPA’s Proposed Interim Decisions on Rodenticides. Panelists included Sophia (Cornejo) Azar, Executive Officer, California Structural Pest Control Board; Dominic Dimare, Partner, Arc Strategies; and J.D. Darr, Director, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs, National Pest Management Association. The panel was moderated by Mike Bullert, President & CEO, Big Time Pest Control.

Elevate your knowledge on controlling rodents with this overview of a critical part of any pest control company. Are "sustainable” rodent programs possible? This session will keep you up to date with control strategies as well as recent rodenticide regulations that could impact structural pest control.
The Salino Scholarship Committee, under the direction of the Pennsylvania Pest Management Association (PPMA) board of directors, is awarding nearly $10,000 in scholarship funding to six high school students planning to attend college during the 2023-24 academic year. Each student is sponsored by a PPMA member company. "The Salino Memorial Scholarship gives us the opportunity to carry on Joe Salino’s legacy,” says PPMA President Jeff King.
The following students will receive a financial award to help fund their college education in 2023-24 (sponsors in parentheses):
