NPMA staff have continued meeting with key stakeholders on Capitol Hill to discuss our legislative priorities. This past week NPMA met with the offices of Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN-2) and Rep. Nikki Budzinski (D-IL-13). Staff also attended a Rep. Don Davis (D-NC-1) fundraiser where we discussed and emphasized the importance of the industry. Events like these are a great opportunity for NPMA staff to highlight the outstanding work that the pest management industry is doing to protect food, health, and property.
Join your colleagues for an engaging experience at NPMA’s Eastern Conference. Attendees will have the opportunity to earn recertification credits from an educational program featuring a mix of in-depth management sessions, interactive training, and technical courses featuring the latest research in the pest management industry. Highlights include technical sessions on spotted lantern flies, wood-destroying insects, rodents, and more, while key business sessions will tackle social media marketing, business development, staffing, and technology.

To keep a pulse on consumer pest concerns, the Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), the consumer marketing arm of NPMA, uses Artificial Intelligence to accurately assess public opinion on various pest topics. According to September results, the fall season kicked off with rats and hornets experiencing the highest increase in engagement out of any other core pests in the month at 1,089% and 192%, respectively. Following the release of the bi-annual Bug Barometer® forecast, it is noteworthy that in the context of health and home concerns, the U.S. population saw an increase in engagement on rats at 791% and mosquitoes at 59%.
