EPA has shared an update on the Agency's Draft Vulnerable Species Pilot Project (PDF) and has indicated that structural uses of pesticides will no longer be in scope. While this should be considered a huge win for PMPs, there is still work to do to ensure that mosquito adulticide applications are also removed from the scope of the project. NPMA will be continuing a dialogue with the Agency to work toward an exemption for NPMA members who perform "backyard" mosquito treatments. We will be sure to update members once more information is available.

With bed bug infestations top of mind this season, it’s no surprise that bed bugs had the highest increase in engagement out of any other core pest in October at 2,097%, according to their results. In line with Rodent Awareness Week in October, it is noteworthy that in the context of health and home concerns, the U.S. population saw an increase in engagement on rodents at 153% and rats specifically at 75%.
