The Women’s Forum is an opportunity for women and men throughout the pest management industry to create an inclusive environment for all members of their team. During this engaging program, participants will attend sessions on inspiring and impactful leadership, network during interactive workshops and breakout sessions, hear from groundbreaking keynote speakers, and celebrate women across the industry.

This week, NPMA staff met with the offices of Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX-34) and Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ-3) to discuss the importance of state-level pesticide preemption and NPMA’s efforts on the Farm Bill. NPMA staff also attended a fundraiser for Rep. Jim Costa (D-CA-21) and Rep. Lou Correa (D-CA-46).

In this episode, Mike shares new breakthroughs in artificial intelligence technology used to locate invasive ants, Laura highlights research looking at how age impacts malaria transmission in mosquitoes, and Ellie reviews a recent study investigating if mosquito repellent devices impact pollinators. Remember to submit your nominations for the David Cooksey PestVet of the Year Award. Nominations are due by February 9, 2024.  This award was created to honor a veteran who has helped strengthen the role of pest management. They are recognized for their outstanding contributions to the industry and to the communities they serve.

The recipient will be awarded at Legislative Day, March 10-12, 2024, in Washington, DC.
