A Woman's Story of Young Love and Old Concrete

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Behold the power of first love, the durability of concrete and how sometimes both go together. This week, NewsLinks brings you the story of Sissy Hewitt, whose late husband scrawled an affectionate message to her on a freshly poured sidewalk. David Hewitt died in 2008 and most of that sidewalk has long since been replaced, but the 52-year-old message lives on. The heavy concrete chunk recently moved to Sissy Hewitt's backyard; a testament to an enduring love story and, for you fans of ready mixed concrete, a reminder that concrete can help a widow remember her first love.
