NRMCA has announced the release of the new Guide to Specifying Pervious Concrete, which is intended to complement ACI’s 522.1 Specification for Pervious Concrete, providing guidance to designers and specifiers with regard to important aspects of the pervious concrete specification. Prepared by the NRMCA Pervious Concrete Promotion Subcommittee, the guide is the first in a new series of publications called Pervious In Practice (PIP).
"The Pervious in Practice documents will be a series of two- and four-page publications focusing on topics of significance to designers/specifiers, contractors and ready mix producers," said NRMCA Senior Director, Local Paving, Phil Kresge. The PIP’s follow the model of NRMCA’s hugely successful Concrete In Practice (CIP), Technology In Practice (TIP) and the new Specification In Practice (SIP) series. "Future PIP topics will include Pervious Concrete Mix Design, Testing of Pervious Concrete and The Importance of Using Certified Contractors for Pervious Placement," Kresge added.
