NRMCA exhibited its Build with Strength program at CONSTRUCT 2016, held earlier this month in Austin, TX. CONSTRUCT is the conference of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI); it attracted some 2,500 specifying architects and engineers. The Build with Strength campaign promoted concrete as the most durable, safe and cost effective choice for building construction. Exhibiting for the first time at this conference proved valuable, with excellent project discussions for encouraging concrete as the preferred building material. NRMCA received great interest when discussing case studies and innovation technologies such as insulating concrete forms (ICFs) and why this building system is not only cost competitive, but also more resilient and sustainable than other building materials. Demonstrating ICF’s in the booth gave attendees an opportunity to experience ICFs up close and learn about their ease and convenience of assembling.
There was also great interest in learning about NRMCA’s Design Assistance Program (DAP) services, which can benefit designers when optimizing concrete products on projects, including structural design, energy analysis and guide specifications to maximize performance while minimizing cost.
